Emerson’s Test and Measurement business, formerly NI, has reiterated its dedication to its comprehensive testing approach by unveiling significant updates to its core software products, including NI LabVIEW™. At NI Connect 2024, a conference for customers, partners, and industry leaders, Emerson showcased the latest advancements in NI hardware and software that aim to improve engineers’ efficiency, allowing them to focus more on root cause analysis and collaboration within their organizations.

Ritu Favre, the group president of Emerson’s Test and Measurement business, highlighted the company’s unique value proposition of a software-centric, modular hardware approach to testing. She emphasized the vision for harnessing the power of AI in test and measurement, as well as their commitment to innovating on industry-leading NI products to revolutionize intelligent testing across the industry. Emerson aims to provide robust support for R&D efforts in core NI-branded products like LabVIEW and TestStand™, while also building a comprehensive, connected workflow with complementary products within the NI LabVIEW+™ suite for continuous improvement.

New advancements introduced at NI Connect include the latest iteration of NI LabVIEW focusing on collaborative engineering workflows, enhancements in diff and merge functions, version management, and support for calling .NET Core Assemblies. NI experts demonstrated how AI can be leveraged within development tools like LabVIEW to increase user productivity by automating tasks such as code description and documentation. Additionally, NI announced that the LabVIEW Community Edition is now free for students and parts of LabVIEW, starting with Icon Editor, will become open source to encourage community collaboration.

Emerson continues to strengthen its NI PXI hardware portfolio by incorporating recent additions like the NI PXIe-5633 Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) add-on module, the PXIe-6571 Digital Pattern Instrument, and new controllers built on 11th generation Intel Core processors. These efforts demonstrate Emerson’s commitment to enhancing its solutions catalogue, including the NI Semiconductor Test System (STS) celebrating its 10th anniversary.
